What we invest in
Tate & Lyle Ventures invests in technology-based businesses in the fields of renewable ingredients, food technologies, renewable resources such as biomaterials and biofuels and industrial processing technologies. We aim to invest £1-2M in a first commitment to a company anticipating a similar amount in follow on investment. We will consider smaller investments and seed deals when we believe that the business is on a very steep growth curve leading to greater capital requirements in the near future.
We are hands-on investors aiming to support the management teams we back with experience, strategy and networks. We prefer to work as lead investors but may also work as syndicate members alongside other investors – including business angels, venture capital funds and corporate investors.
Our focus is on early stage ventures in Western Europe and North America.
